Justifying an Argument using Text Based Evidence (using IRLA resource)
by Thomas Mancuso, AP
This lesson plan pairs a non-fiction text about immunization from the IRLA resource on "Homeostasis" with another non-fiction text about the same topic and focuses on strong literacy in the content area of Science. The lesson plan employs small group work and graphic organizers as tools to help students draw textual evidence from the non-fiction texts to strengthen an argument about immunization.
