ELA Curriculum Sample Lessons
The following lessons were created with resources from the ELA Nonfiction and Media Curricular Resource books.
The above lesson has three different versions: one appropriate for our highest-level learners, one for our middle-of-the-road learners, and one for our literacy-level learners. It can be further adapted by the teacher to meet the needs of a particular class or student/group of students. In the lesson, the following resources are used: the text excerpts, graphic organizer, and the Quote-Note-Comment sheet.
In a Professional Development Session, teachers created follow-up activities to these lessons. These lessons, created collectively, can be found here and here.
