This booklet contains comprehensive résumé writing activities and guidelines that can be used by all P2G faculty who work with students on career readiness. The packet includes differentiated activities designed to be used with students at varying levels.

In this workshop, students will understand the impact of social media choices on the college admissions process, and will learn strategies for creating strong college applications.

The goal of this workshop is to build students’ awareness of college resources and supports available to them as they transition to, and begin, college. By “starting from where they are,” the workshop encourages students to identify anxieties and issues related to college life, and then how they can resolve these issues using real-world campus resources and supports.

Suggested methods for incorporating the activity are provided.

This interactive Jeopardy game emphasizes SUNY information and general college knowledge about FAFSA and financial aid, support services on campus, and general topics related to college life. The workshop is available in a PowerPoint and a PDF paper version.

This writing activity, aligned with Common Core learning Standards for College Readiness, engages students in researching and writing about a career interest they identified through Plan to Succeed. Students will need access to Plan to Succeed, or at a minimum the results from one of the career interest surveys they completed, in order to participate in the workshop. This workshop is designed to help students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to identify FAFSA terms, collect required documents and complete the FAFSA application. Students will be prepared to: create a FAFSA PIN; outline a plan of action to collect required documents; complete the FAFSA and TAP applications.

This goal of this workshop is to provide parents with an in-depth overview of the financial aid process, including the differences between FAFSA and TAP, documents needed to complete financial aid applications, and types of aid awarded. NOTE: The suggested timeframe for administering this workshop is December-March.
